A Little Project!

I got a little creative when I got invited to a Baby Shower.......I was thinking it would be pretty easy to whip up a little something.....well...it was kind of easy! Maverik thought he could sew and thread the machine.....Also he thought his color choices trumped mine, "No this piece Mom!" Rowynn like stealing all the scraps off the floor. I am telling you people, if you need things cleaned up around your house Rowynn will pick up just about anything off the floor and say "thisssssssssss" (or what sounds like this) I thought it looked great in the end despite a few challenges! I actually did most of it during nightime and nap time, it went pretty quick! It was for a little girl to be and I am sure she will love it! I need to make Ms.Rowynn one! I will be on that very soon.....not really but I hope sooner then later! Here are a few pictures of my creation! Don't look to close.......I kind of just made my own little pattern.....

Happy Birthday Gabrielle and Happy Heart Day Maverik Paul!

Happy 18th Birthday Gabrielle.....Here are some pictures of Auntie Gabrielle! We hope that you have a wonderful Birthday Gabrielle! We love you and can't believe that you are 18! I remember when I met you and you were just a little girl......Now your an Auntie as well as a Godmother and you are ready to go to college! Wow time flies!

Wow 3 years ago today Maverik had his first open heart surgery.....as we paced and waited to be called to surgery we were so scared. We could not believe that our little boy needed surgery. We discovered several days after birth that the original heart murmur that they diagnosed turned into Tetralogy of Fallot (you can click on the word for a more in depth explanation). Andrew and I were not prepared for this to be part of our plan for our brand new baby boy. After a few different doctors appointments we knew we were in great hands and we had unbelievable doctor's along with cardiologists and nurses to help Maverik get through this. Maverik was never sick or had any problems before or after surgery. Which made us happy that it was more of a preventative operation then something he needed asap to get through daily life. We started a web page for people to log on to to read what was going on with Maverik and how he was doing. During that time Maverik and our family received many words of encouragement that helped us through tough times. We were so blessed to have such a strong support group of family and friends to help us through this difficult time. Our parents flew in to help us and be at the hospital during surgery, mine from MN and Andrew's from Texas. I met a lot of people that had unbelievable stories and far more time in the hospital then our 6 days. I still think of those people and pray they are doing as well as we are. Here are some pictures of Maverik in the hospital.

Here is Gabrielle and Maverik. It was so nice of her to share her birthday as Maverik's special surgery date. This way we can never forget about this day!

A few pictures the night before the hospital....

After Surgery...

Maverik right out of Surgery we could not hold him for a few days and that  was the hardest part....

Feeling a little better...

Daddy got to feed him and hold him

Recovering with Mom and Dad.....Getting better and better!

Nana got to hold him lots my parents stayed at the hospital the whole week and helped us get home and settled!

What a good little patient

Going Home....

Lady Di came and helped me take care of Maverik after his surgery! Maverik recovered like a champ!

With his Surgeon Dr. Morrell a month later for a follow up.....He called him a little Bear because he was so BIG!

(On a side note we were not aware that Maverik would need another surgery later that Spring to complete his total repair, we found out late April they needed to do one more thing so he received that second surgery on May 2nd, 2008 and was in the hospital from Friday to Monday what a strong little boy!)
Maverik goes once a year for a checkup and is doing amazing! We are so blessed

Valentines....I don't really heart this holiday.......

Love was in the air last Monday February 14th people were waking up giving and getting gifts from loved ones, planning dinner, drinks and celebrating in all sorts of other ways. I was alone with two kids and Maverik hit a sugar overload by 10:30 am which let caused him to float through the rest of a day on a high!!!!! OMG I hate this holiday not because I shared it with my kids and not my husband, its because of all the sugar and craziness that goes along with this holiday......I am not a hater....but I am just not a lover of this event! I do not need a stuffed bear, mylar balloon or photo frame that says LOVE on it to know that my husband loves me along with overpriced red roses.....I would rather just skip this holiday and celebrate a more important holiday like Fourth or July!!!

Forgive me if you love Valentine's Day or love celebrating this holiday....I do love the fun colors and decor that go with this day.....I just don't really like the hype of this holiday......but I did buy into the hype and I got my kids together finally in a beautiful picture taken by Deidre Caswell at Sweet Cheeks LLC  This picture had a "love" theme which I adore because my kids do love each other and I love them very much, even when they drive me nuts or Maverik does not listen......I continue to love them more and more each day! On that note, I hope that you had a wonderful holiday together with your friends or a loved one.....or just a regular day if you did not celebrate......Here are some pictures of my Valentine's!

Minnesnowta was quite snowy! We had a great time at my parents house and I got to see some family and friends while I was there! It was a great time and Maverik loved the snow and of course SKYY the puppy! Rowynn had an earache the day we left, perfect timing! She was quite happy during the day but was not happy at all at night! Thankfully my Dad and I took turns with little Ms.Rowynn.......who awoke several times nightly. We saw lots of friends and I got to go out without the kids a few times, thanks Mom and Dad! It was a super fun trip! Here are some pictures that I took, it was a great time!
